About the Speaker:
Sheryl Roush is President/CEO of Sparkle Presentations, Inc., based in San Diego, CA. She commented that she owes thanks to the PWSD — and coaching from Past Chapter President Bob Goodman — for helping get her “self-published” books (6 titles in a series) placed into Borders bookstores. As a marketing designer, she received four international design awards, plus journalism awards. Her Heart of a Military Woman book, won 2009 “Best Spiritual/Inspirational” from the San Diego Book Awards (the only contest she entered). She has been interviewed by Montel Williams (twice–on her books). As a conference presenter, she has opened for Marie Osmond, closed for Geena Davis, and spoken alongside Olivia Newton-John and Suze Orman. Two chapters of the National Speakers Association awarded her their “Member of the Year” and Toastmasters International honored her as their sixth woman (in 116 countries out of 4.4 million members) to earn the elite Accredited Speaker designation. A noted speaking coach, she has trained the NFL’s award-winning San Diego Charger Girls for the past 12 seasons in their public speaking and media interview skills. Sheryl is available to speak at conferences, boot camps, meetings, retreats and special events. Programs are high-content, and engaging, with a motivational style and tone.

About Publishers and Writers of San Diego (PWSD):
PWSD is a professional association of the publishing community in San Diego, educating business-minded self-publishers and authors. PWSD has been serving as a forum for education, networking, and motivation since 1994. Originally founded as The San Diego Publishers Alliance, the group comprises members from all areas of publishing and writing — authors, self-publishers, independent publishers, editors, book packagers, designers, consultants, promotional professionals, students, and more. One key unique aspect of PWSD is that it focuses on the business of publishing and writing. There are many groups that support the craft of writing — you can find some on our links page— so we feel it’s important to complement them by supporting the business side of our field. Because of its established presence and history, PWSD is recognized throughout the publishing community as a valuable organization whose members contribute greatly to the benefit of our profession. Our membership includes numerous award-winning authors, writers, and publishing professionals. In addition, PWSD is an affiliate of the following national associations:

IBPA: The Independent Book Publishers Association
Small Publishers of North America (SPAN)
Self-Publishers, Artists, and Writers Network (SPAWN)
