The publishing industry has changed dramatically since the inception of e-books and e-readers. It could take literally years to find a publishing house that would take your work to print, and even then publishers frequently could take a year or more to bring your work to market. Traditional publishers pay first time authors a 10% royalty. However, when you self-publish, you can receive up to 70% of the royalties of your book. In this new era of publishing, you can bypass the agent and the publisher, while retaining all of your own rights. PARKING:
